North Texas Palapas
A fresh website for a North Texas family business, and what makes a small business site bring in calls.
North Texas Palapas is a family business that builds palapas, tiki bars, and pergolas across North Texas. Their work speaks for itself, and they wanted a website to match it.
I got to build it with them. I’ve been exploring new ways to build websites with AI, and this was a great real-world project to do it on. The new site has fresher graphics and makes it easy for homeowners to call or ask for an estimate.
What it’s built with #
The site runs on WordPress. WordPress is the tool behind a lot of the websites you visit every day. It lets you add and change pages without writing code.
I built it working alongside an AI agent, the same way I built this site. An AI agent is an AI tool that can do real work on a computer, like writing code or making changes, while you guide it and check what it does.
What makes a small business website work #

- Say what you do and where, right away. The first thing you read is “Bring paradise to your backyard,” followed by palapas, tiki bars, and pergolas built in Texas. A visitor knows in seconds if they’re in the right place.
- Make it easy to reach you. The phone number and a big “Get a Quote” button sit right at the top. Nobody has to hunt for them.
- Show proof. Numbers like 500+ builds and 10+ years, plus ratings from homeowners, help a stranger trust you.
- Tell your story. The family learned the craft in Tamaulipas, Mexico. A real story makes a business feel like people, not just a logo.
- Explain what happens next. A simple four-step “how it works” section takes the mystery out of making that first call.
